AMC has renewed Hell on Wheels for a third season. The Western starring Anson Mount and Common will return with 10 additional episodes, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
From Endemol, Entertainment One and Nomadic Pictures, the drama created by Joe and Tony Gayton returned for its second season in August, shedding 2 million viewers year-over-year without the advantage of ratings juggernaut The Walking Dead as a lead-in.This season, the drama averaged 2.4 million viewers, down from its 3 million freshman season average.
Scandal received a full season pick-up from ABC Monday, but as a great surprise for me so did The Neighbours.Shonda Rhimes political drama Scandal received an additional nine episodes, bringing it to its first full, 22 episode season.
In my oppinion one the worst tv-shows ever, The Neighbors, who had a decent premiere 9.3 million viewers and a 3.3 rating, have a green light for a full season because ABC likes that this show had a steady performance in its Wednesday-night timeslot.

Pe care din cele trei le urmaresti ?
I love the show. It is raw to the bones and probably captures the truth of the times more accurately than a romanticized western.
Yeah, it’s one the best western shows ever. Its a good thing that is running on AMC, so we will have a lot of seasons.
Good of you to let folks in your circle know about the renewal of Hell on Wheels. I write about Westerns at http://www.westernsreboot.com and also teach a college-level course about the film genre. My students discuss Hell on Wheels and its treatment of such themes as American expansionism and “Manifest Destiny”, Indigenous territorial rights (specifically as Euro-settler governments “claim” areas), race relations and social class. We discuss the show both in terms of historical content and contemporary relevance. This show has been an excellent combination of entertainment and insight.
Thanks,
Chad
